Meet our Founder & Lead Consultant
Jasmine Burnett
Jasmine is an Atlanta-based strategist, community-builder and storyteller with an academic background in urban planning and public policy. She has extensive experience in community programming and strategy design, focusing primarily on projects that disrupt systems of exploitation and build power for working-class people.

Jasmine began her career in social sector consulting, helping large nonprofits and foundations maximize their social impact. She has worked with large institutions to design new programs and optimize operational practices, and has also helped smaller organizations create strong theories of change and refine their intended impact goals.
Since moving back to Atlanta in 2018, Jasmine has worked as a community development practitioner with a special focus on affordable housing. She served as a project manager for Zion Hill Community Development Corporation, designing the initial strategy for their affordable housing expansion plan and engaging key stakeholders. Jasmine also worked in community and economic development, helping practitioners in the Southeast create more equitable COVID-19 recovery policies and practices, and co-designing a leadership training program for emerging leaders in the region.

Through her professional and academic experiences, Jasmine has gained insight into how well-intentioned social impact initiatives often reinforce, rather than disrupt, systemic inequities. As such, Jasmine seeks to help organizations break these patterns by exploring power dynamics, engaging in root cause analyses, and conducting strategic planning processes that chart a new path forward. Her tactical methodology combines narrative-building frameworks, community engagement strategies, and mixed-methods research to design new approaches to achieving principled and sustainable impact. She has used this approach to support dozens of organizations, community-led initiatives, and creative collectives.

A believer in cooperative economics, Jasmine is also a co-owner and co-founder of The Spoons Consultancy Cooperative, a Black-women owned and staffed creative consulting firm.

She has a master’s degree in both City and Regional Planning and Public Policy from The Georgia Institute of Technology. She received her B.A. in Government with a secondary in African American Studies from Harvard College.
